Introduction to Affiliate Marketing

April 30th, 2008 by admin

What is Affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is also
synonymous with the following terms: associate marketing,
associate programs, bounty programs, revenue-sharing, referral
and partnership programs.

Originating in the USA several years ago with Amazon.com,
affiliate marketing has quickly gained acceptance in North
America as a viable and effective method of obtaining online
screened and targeted site traffic, ongoing revenue generation
and building consumer credibility.

This explosive growth and acceptance of affiliate marketing is
also rapidly expanding into the European and Asian business
community, including being translated into numerous languages.

Associate marketing or associate programs are simply revenue
sharing arrangements established by sponsor companies selling a
variety of online products and services. Web site owners are
financially rewarded for sending referrals or customers to the
business in numerous ways.

Financial compensation results to the website owner when a
referral goes directly to the sponsors site and completes the
sponsors terms of acceptance.

Terms of acceptance could include that the referral do any of
the following: visiting a site, completing an application or
obtaining a quote, registering for a free newsletter,
downloading and installing software or making a consumer
purchase.

The subsequent payment for the lead or referral are defined by
the sponsor, and can range from a simple one time click through
payment or a fixed commission rate, to a multi-tiered payment
scheme resembling a MLM matrix that includes potential revenue
from future lifetime purchases made by referrals of referrals.

Regardless of the payment method chosen, an equitable affiliate
program results is a Win Win Win financial situation for all
parties involved. The Sponsor receives additional site traffic
and potential revenue from a new member; the Webmaster(s)
receives revenue for providing a qualified lead; and the site
visitor finds what they were looking for, at an acceptable price.

There are currently hundreds of thousands of Affiliate programs
available, ranging from corporate sites such as Wal-mart to
individual entrepreneurs promoting a single publication, and new
competition is arriving daily. To help find complimentary
Affiliate programs for your website or general information
purposes, several free directories such as Associate Programs at
http://www.associateprograms.com and Refer-it at
http://www.refer-it.com maintain ongoing catalogues of new,
existing and deleted affiliate programs.

These directory sites also contain a wealth of affiliate
information, proven marketing tips and techniques, consumer
ratings of programs and links to supportive software. The
Associate Programs directory has links to thousands of archived
and informative articles and includes a popular bi-monthly
newsletter that includes the latest affiliate news and global
success stories.

The Refer-it site ranks thousands of listed affiliate programs
with a four star rating, that is extremely accurate concerning
the reliability and integrity of each affiliate program offered.

Internet Gambling and taxes - What You Need to Know

April 30th, 2008 by admin

I am a fanatic of gambling. I do enjoy risk-taking some things and face the consequences after. Gambling is one of the few things that makes my blood rise. It makes me hyperactive every time I’m in a winning streak or when I am in the otherwise. One of the most famous gambling events that is happening around the world is the offshore gambling or sometimes they call it offshore betting. Anyway, the idea is you place a bet on a certain game like online casino, online poker, among others. If you win in any of the games that you play, you’ll be able to see all your earnings in your account book which you will have should you sign up for an account. It’s that simple. The good thing about this is that you don’t have to go in a gambling den that is hours away from your home. In online gambling, you can place your bet, win and get your money in the comfort of your home. And since you’re in your comfort zone, not only are you in safest place, you will be able to show how you really feel without getting ridiculed looks from other betters. Sounds cool and exciting right? Well, you have to rethink some things though. A lot of issues are going around the world with the illegality of commercial online betting. According to the current federal law, an act was passed by the Congress in the 1960s prohibiting all acts of gambling wagers over the telephone and over the Internet. This law is now known as the Wire Act. Moreover, since this is an illegal industry, everything the owner have is tax free - or we may call tax evader. Since there is indeed illegality with Internet casino gambling, it is up to you if you’ll still continue betting online or you go for a more safer and reliable gambling place such as in Vegas. You have the information, you decided then. Read more about Internet Gambling and Taxes at Playsportal.net.

FAQs - Licensing Intellectual Property (IP)

April 29th, 2008 by admin

Licensing is a key business strategy. It’s a way to maximize the earnings from inventions and creative works, which are called intellectual property or “IP.”.

What is licensing?

Licensing is when you grant some rights to intellectucal property “IP” that you own. It is really a partnership of mutual cooperation between the licensor, who owns the IP, and the licensee, who is given the right to use it for certain purposes.

Question: What are royalties?

Royalties are a way of calculating compensation for use of intellectual property. The licensee is granted the right to use it for a royalty. Royalties are usually based on a percentage of the revenues that are generated. For instance, if I license my course to a company and say, “For every subsequent use of this course, I get 5% of the revenue,” that’s the royalty 5% of the revenue would be the royalty/payment that I would receive.

Question: Are there rules of thumb for royalty amounts?

Figuring out what royalty to ask for is always a challenge. As sort of a really rough rule of thumb, the allocation of the revenue generated can be 25% for the licensor and 75% for the licensee. This is because the licensee is usually doing all the sales and marketing related to generating revenue. It varies greatly from industry to industry.

Question: What are some examples of the types of works that can be licensed?

Many types of IP can be licensed. For example, copyright-protected works, trademarks, and patented inventions can be licensed. Materials and know-how may be licensed and generate additional income. Other examples include images, photographs, music, a recording - on any kind of media.

It’s very difficult to license something that has not been reduced to writing or some kind of tangible form. Just trying to license “know-how,” for instance, is very difficult. Someone could have a lot of expertise, but unless they turn it into something concrete or tangible, it’s difficult to license it.

Question: What are the pitfalls of licensing?

A classic pitfall is that the licensee does not pay royalties. The licensor gives rights to a licensee and the licensee doesn’t do anything with them. So the licensor’s IP rights are tied up in the license agreement, but the licensor isn’t getting any money for the IP. I recommend that a licensee be required to pay at least a “minimum” royalty or forfeit the license. That way, the licensor is guaranteed a certain level of revenue. That’s also motivating for licensees because they’re going to have to pay that money in order to keep the license, so they’re going to focus on using your IP.

Another pitfall is granting an exclusive license, or giving away way too many rights. The scope of the license grant is extremely important. For example, one situation that I’m familiar with involved a patent for a chemical process. It was licensed to a very large pharmaceutical company. But in that license, we were very careful to limit it to medical applications. We turned around two years later and licensed that same patent to a paint company. Had we granted all the rights in the first license, we wouldn’t have been able to do the second licensing agreement, which was a very different market and a very different application.

Question: What if I want to use someone else’s work?

Using someone else’s work is sometimes called “licensing in.” That’s a very good business strategy as well. Why recreate the wheel if you can use materials that are out there or content that’s already been created? Usually, what I suggest is that you approach the owner of the IP and say, “I’d like permission to use some of your materials,” and you negotiate an agreement.

It’s OK to use other people’s works (without payment) if the work is in the public domain or if the use is considered to be within the “fair use doctrine.” (See enews archives for further discussion).

Question: What if someone copies my work?

Registering copyrights is an important step. If an infringement occurs after the copyright is registered, you can recover statutory damages per infringement and attorney fees. If an infringement occurs prior to registration, you can only recover actual damages, which are extremely difficult to prove.

Question: What is a territory?

Licensors try to specify territories for authorized use. Say, for instance, you have a way to fix cars and you were going to deliver a training program and it required on-site training to show people how to do this particular type of repair - fix the paint or fix the dents. That’s a service that would probably be delivered in person, so it makes sense to carve that up geographically.

But, if you market on the Internet, it’s really hard to specify a geographic territory. For example, if you’re developing an e-learning kind of program and it is going to be marketed over the Internet, then it’s very difficult to restrict geographies, just because you could have potential customers coming from anywhere in the world.

In conclusion, these are just a few of the frequently asked questions about licensing. Licensing is a great way to generate revenue from IP. Is licensing a strategy that you want to explore for your business?

Choose An Adjustable-Rate Mortgage Today

April 29th, 2008 by admin

Sometimes it seems that everywhere you look right now, you see ads for home loans with incredibly low rates. It’s hard not to ask - are these ads for real?

The answer is - yes, these ads are real, and they’re for adjustable-rate mortgages. Generally, though, the special offer being advertised is only for a short period of time. After that, the loan reverts to the standard interest rate. So once your low interest period ends, you can almost guarantee that your loan rate will rise. Depending on the way your loan is structured, that will more than likely mean a rise in your repayment, too.

While it may be nice to have a period of time where you loan repayment is low, the reality is that at the end of the low rate period it’s going to rise, perhaps substantially, and you have no way of knowing in advance exactly what your new repayment is going to be. While many people are able to cope with this level of uncertainty, for others it can be very worrying, as their incomes are limited. It’s often good to start making monthly repayments equivalent to what you’d be paying under the standard interest rate, even if you’re still in the low rate period of your adjustable-rate mortgage. Paying more can get you into the habit, so you can budget accordingly, and it means you can pay a lot more off the loan early and save yourselves a lot over the life of the loan.

In some instances, lenders have already realized that the uncertainty of adjustable-rate mortgages can be a problem for some families. As a result, some lenders include a clause that limits the size of any interest rate increase, so at least your possible future payment will be capped. But again, this capped period is only going to be for a set period, say 5 years. At some point, you’re going to have to pay the full rate.

Basically, whether or not you choose and adjustable-rate mortgage comes down to your personal financial situation. If you know you can comfortably make the initially payments, and can still make payments even after a substantial rate increase, say 2%, then an adjustable-rate mortgage is probably the best way to go. If, however, your income is fixed and the mortgage payment, though affordable, would become a real problem after a substantial rate rise, then a fixed rate or interest only loan is probably a better option.

Adjustable-rate mortgages usually have a lower interest rate than most fixed rate loans. So they can be more affordable initially. This may also mean that you can qualify for a larger loan. Also, some lenders will consider extending the period of a loan if rates rise substantially and you find yourself in difficulties. So your 20 year mortgage may become 22 years. Of course, this is only likely to happen if you’re up to date with your payments.

Analysis of bank rates over an extended period of time has shown that adjustable-rate mortgages are also a lot more likely to be cheaper than fixed rate loans most of the time. So what you sacrifice in payment certainty, you gain in cheaper rates - most of the time.

So before applying for an adjustable-rate mortgage, take some time to think about the following questions. Knowing the answers will make it much easier to decide if an adjustable-rate mortgage is right for you.

- Is it likely that my income will rise in the foreseeable future? Or will my partner soon be returning to paid work?

- Am I likely to need to borrow other substantial sums shortly, for example to purchase a car or for school tuition?

- Do I expect to sell this home in a short period of time?

Once you have the answers, talk to a lender or a mortgage broker about your situation, and they can help you decide if an adjustable-rate mortgage is right for you.

Scrapbook Photos — Getting Adventurous With Your Layouts

April 28th, 2008 by admin

When you have selected the photos for your scrapbook, you’ll need to decide how best to lay them out on the pages. Don’t feel obliged to follow any principles that don’t suit your own design. There are no specific rules stating that all photographs or mementos must be placed in chronological order. It is completely up you to decide in what order you wish to place your items and embellishments.

Choosing Your Layout

You can place your photos in a formal chronological order if you want. You can also group them into formal or informal categories according to similar colors, events, activities, individuals or families. Photographs can also be placed into random or abstract arrangements, or collages.

Each style has its own place in scrapbooking. For instance, a chronological order might be useful for an anniversary scrapbook. Pictures and mementos of the couple’s years together could be placed from the first day they met through the wedding day to the present day with each time period on a different page.

On the other hand, a scrapbook for a parent might just have a collage of photos and drawings to create a sense of the character of their family and their lives together.

Getting Creative With Borders And Frames

Next time you want to find materials to make scrapbook photo frames, have a look in your sewing box or craft cupboard. You’ll almost certainly find bits of ribbon, lace or embroidery cotton that can be re-used to make fascinating and unusual borders for pictures, photos, text or even entire pages.

These items can be used in many different ways by the scrapbooker and help create a sense of theme or mood, as well as contributing color and texture to your pages.

Ribbons and Lace

Ribbon and lace are by far the most common and most beautiful border embellishments. The flowing nature of both materials encourages a touch of softness and elegance. Ribbon and lace are especially popular in gift and memory scrapbooks. Ribbon is easy to glue and attach. Lace requires a bit more patience.

For an interesting change from ribbon and lace, try using jute or raffia.

Embroidery Cotton

Embroidery cotton can be used in a number of interesting scrapbooking ways. Individual fibers can be used to add a focus to special items or used to give dimension to artwork or drawings.

Embroidery fibers can also be twisted or braided for use in artwork or as imaginative borders. Embroidery cotton can even be used to tie down other items in a beautiful and creative way.

Hemp

Hemp can be used for a number of purposes in scrapbooking. Single, twisted, or braided fibers can be used to add focus as picture frames, or along the edges of the scrapbook page as a border. Hemp looks especially good in scrapbooks with a western theme. In general, hemp can also be used to make a scrapbook appear more masculine.

Hemp glues quite easily and hides glue messes well. To increase the likelihood that a piece of hemp will stay in place while the glue is drying, place a piece of scotch tape over the rope until the piece dries fully.

Always trust your own instincts and have the confidence to organize and decorate your scrapbook according to how you see the people and events it represents. That way your work will form a unique record and have even greater personal value.

Hill of Hope

April 28th, 2008 by admin

Just about now everyone is confused as to which way the stock market is going to go - up or down. For the past 3 years it has been headed south, but the Wall Street experts have told us that the market never goes down 4 years in a row so this has to be an up year. But no guarantees.

The old saying is that the stock market climbs a wall of worry. We watch sharp moves up followed by days, sometimes weeks of weakness and then another shot to higher prices. From 1982 to 2000 this went on until we absolutely, positively knew it was going to continue forever. The current mindset is you can’t lose if you just “hang in there”. Mr. Average-stockholder has lost about 50% of his money so far and has chewed his fingernails to the nub. Now what?

I hope you don’t need a house to fall on you to realize we are in a long-term bear market, one that could last for years. In a bear market the action is exactly opposite what you see in a bull market - sharp declines followed by slow agonizing rallies that don’t quite make it back to the previous high prices. This is called climbing the Hill of Hope. This is a slippery hill to which you will not make it to the top. Hope is the most expensive word in an investor’s lexicon.

The smartest (?) analysts (?) and talking heads on TV continue to tell us the market always comes back - if you live long enough. They fail to tell you that every bull market is followed by a bear market of about equal length. This last bull ended after 18 years and if cycles repeat we have 15 more years of the downward path to follow. I know - “this time it is different”. Let’s hope so, but I don’t want to have my money on hope.

The DOW Industrial Index has been down 3 years in a row and only once in history has it gone down 4 times to newer lows. Did you know that the DOW Transportation Index has been down 5 years straight? Can there possibly be a sixth year? Your answer is as good as mine.

There has recently been some liquidation of mutual funds from 401Ks and IRAs, but the amount is small. It has been reported that there is about 3 trillion (with a T) in mutual funds. The talking heads speak of 10 and 20 billion leaving the so-called “safe haven”. As a percentage of total assets this is a spit. One of these days not too far in the future (probably this year) investors will suddenly get the idea to head for the door. And they all seem to do it about the same time like lemmings headed over the cliff.

This will look like a major bottom in the market - and it might be if the P/E ratio can get down to around
10 or less. Until it does they will still be trying, unsuccessfully, to climb that Hill of Hope.

If You Want to Keep Your Brain Healthy You Need This Nutrient

April 27th, 2008 by admin

Older people who eat food containing high amounts of folate, which is found in many leafy green vegetables and fruits, can cut their risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease by more than half.

This may eventually lead to a means of keeping Alzheimer’s at bay. Right now, there is no preventive therapy for the neurological disease.

Ten-Year Study

A 10-year study showed that people who consume at least 400 micrograms of folate a day (the recommended daily allowance of the vitamin) experienced a 55 pecent lower risk of developing the disease.

Folate reduces blood levels of homocysteine, a substance that can injure brain cells. Foods rich in folate include oranges, broccoli, spinach and bananas.

Alzheimer’s Association August 12, 2005

Dr. Mercola’s Comment:

I first noted the importance of eating whole foods with high amounts of folate to prevent Alzheimer’s disease five years ago. This new study is yet more evidence of this. Green leafy vegetables, strawberries, liver, kidney, nuts and other folate-rich foods can all help keep the nerve cells of your brain from being damaged.

The results of this study mirror the findings of one I posted last month about high amounts of folic acid slowing the cognitive decline that comes with aging.

Fresh vegetables, especially dark green, leafy ones, and strawberries are some of your best natural sources of folic acid. Eating plenty of fresh, uncooked vegetablesis thenatural way toensure you are receiving an ideal daily dose of folic acid (and hundreds of other known and unknown nutrients).

However, it’s also important to understand that we all require different amounts of vegetables to stay healthy. Some people need to consume as much as 300 percent more vegetables than others. The amount of vegetables your body requires depends on your body’s specific metabolic type. While we all need vegetables to stay healthy, your metabolic type should determine the type and amount.

Pre-Christian American Technology

April 26th, 2008 by admin

The Caral pyramids are older than the ones on Giza’s Plateau according to some academics. The mummies found in the Hebrides and Canary Islands have similar interment procedures to those in Peru. There are many things that show advanced technology started in Peru and it is hard to know when it all began or what kind of culture may have taught the white people known as the Chachapoyas who were still the leaders of the Incas even though history tells us they were defeated a short time before Pizarro arrived.

“A team of archaeologists, led by Dr Mike Parker Pearson of Sheffield University, has recently found the remains of what are believed to be two mummified Bronze Age bodies, buried under the floor of a prehistoric house at Cladh Hallan on the Hebridean Island of South Uist. The house in which the mummy skeletons were buried was part of a unique Bronze Age complex, which is as mysterious as the preserved corpses that were buried there.

‘The skeletons looked very unusual…like Peruvian mummies’.” (1)

This book will explore two separate aspects or eras of the development of what Europeans think was all done in the Old World. Those eras will be post-Christianity and pre-Christianity. In both cases there will be elite white people with advanced technology and in some cases this technology seems to have originated in Peru. When we go even further back we will not be talking about white people. There are some Polynesian roots to this real history which will seem even more fantastic than the apparent outlandish claim that Peru (Puma Puncu, Tiahuanaco and the even more intriguing Pyramid complex in the Madre de Dios region that form a battery) is at least the equal of Egypt and Sumer in terms of contributing real original technology and culture. In fact the Brotherhood that colonized Sumer and Egypt might be these very people. We will try to pierce the veils of antiquity and overcome the destruction of records and evidences practiced upon South America by Empire Builders.

Our temerity and gall will fly in the face of ‘experts’ who decry postmodernized supposedly unsubstantiated assertions that seek to integrate the facts. These ‘experts’ continue their discovery by proclamation approaches to science and deny all facts in cases like the Kensington Rune Stone. You can and should decide for yourself, rather than accept the often disproven ‘experts’ whose arrogance knows few bounds. Consider the Scale of Nature that justified prejudice by putting the Hottentot and North American Indian just above the gorilla and far beneath many other supposedly civilized humans. This science was part of the basis for ‘Manifest Destiny’ and the genocidal treatment of Indians while dispossessing them in order to civilize them. The disgust I feel knows no bounds!

The Pope has asked for ‘forgiveness and renewal’. We think his academic henchmen and political mercenaries from the time of Columbus and the Treaty of Tordesillas have much to learn from him.

Pottery and sweat houses from NW Europe, skull shaping and trepanning among the elite, Parcheesi, rubber, the wheel, gold laminating, stone masonry that is earthquake resistant, and the royal purple dye of the Phoenicians may have originated in Aztlan and its colonies throughout America. The mathematical and astronomical knowledge enhanced by telescopes seems important when one knows La Venta, Mexico has brought lenses to archaeologists’ hands. The Mayans discovered the mathematical concept of zero and a decimal system that nonetheless relegated them to a low position on the Scale of Nature, even after the Pope declared the North American was human some three decades after Columbus. Long before that and back to the time of Goliath the American people were traveling to the Middle East.

The list of inventions and cultural impacts on the whole world that originate in America are seemingly never-ending yet the Canadian Museum of Civilization and all conservative emissaries of oppression maintain there was no cultural impact! Recently it was discovered that the Mayan language was both phonetic and pictographic but Bishop Landa had clearly stated this was the case while he burned their libraries and librarians. What do you think about a map traced five hundred years ago that identifies the Bering Strait as it was 12,500 years ago? We only achieved this level of detail in 1958.

Rituals and government like Pelota as an international court of justice and symbol of the movement of the planets around the sun originated in pre-Columbian America. Columbus’s interpreters did not speak Chinese or any Asiatic tongue and we know he was an agent of a Templar group like his brethren including Vasco da Gama who flew their red cross on the sails above their heads. We are nearly certain he had maps showing the way to North America and even the Britannica ridicules the Queen Isabella story about the funding of his expedition. I am sorry for the perpetual run-on sentences when I list a few of the achievements of these courageous people we have relegated to the dung heap of history and heresy.

Aristotle referred to happiness as the most we can achieve.

It is easy to be happy without all the things we obsess over. The balance of our constituent selves and the possibility of participation in creating a whole or in conjunction with that WHOLE is going to be hard to beat for enlightenment. But most people over the last little blip of human existence have bought into systems that deny the whole or any sense of ONENESS. We have seen a 5000 year ‘nightmare’ as James Joyce wisely stated. The thoroughly amazing thing about this - it is those elites who have told us they speak for God or are Divine Kings who in fact have used or led us into this soulful wasteland. We find a similar paradigm exists in scientism which denies the observable outcomes or effects of the soul and ESP.

Barthold Niebuhr said that bringing something back from the past or discovering anything, is a high that is akin to the greatest creativity. It is so wonderful to learn and see the way of those we have denigrated as barbarian or primitive as they frolic in the joy of adventure and oneness with Nature as they nurtured each other.

The Heliopolitan religion or ’sun-worship’ which is all over the entire world is revisited by the people like Gene Savoy who found it was well developed in Peru. He also built craft in the design of the Phoenicians from records found there. Here is a little about the nature of ’sun-worship’ to think upon.

“Long before the advent of Jesus, Mithra was said to have been born of a virgin mother, in a cave, at the time of Christmas, and died on a cross at Easter. Baptism was practised, and the sign of the cross was made on the foreheads of all newly-baptised converts. Mithra was considered to be the saviour of the world, conferring on his followers an eternal life in Heaven, and, similar to the story of Jesus, he died to save all others, provided that they were his followers.” (2)

Genetics will be a difficult thing for various historians who ardently support their tenured ‘me-too think’ to overcome. I get support almost every week for my history from just this one discipline of science. The claim that Australia or S. E. Asia is the origin of the first Americans has just hit the airwaves in September 2004 after I had finished writing this book. This is where I posit that pygmy people like Mungo Man who had chanting harmonic science came from and Churchward would love to see what is being shown from all so many disciplines today. Reuters carried this information - “We want to make headlines from heads,” said Professor Clive Gamble of Southampton University. “DNA will give us a completely new map of the world and how we peopled it.” (3)

When the Incas refused to raise their arms to defend their lives against the arm-weary Spanish who hacked them to death (to kill 7,000 in one day); were they operating in ‘RIGHT THOUGHT’? Were they more ‘civilized’ or simply heathen believers who were duped by some astrological stupidity? We think the 177 Spanish were allowed to do this by wiser people who knew the immortal soul and our part in a grander scheme of things. But it might also be a case of the Chachapoyas (white men who led the Incas) making a deal with the Spanish and allowing this to happen; then they were betrayed. I propose they were willing to courageously face the forces of Evil and greedy religious oppressors; much as the Cathars who sang hymns while walking hand in hand with their children into the fires set for them by the Dominican Catholics. We are similarly STUPID! Because we know we are like a grain of sand on John Donne’s beach; and we know ‘for whom the Bell TOLLS!’

Therefore this book will not hesitate to raise questions; I have no clear and definitive or closed-minded perception about most things I hope. We are not trying to interpret GOD for you - we know we are mere amazed gazers witnessing the majesty of something far greater. The result will enable our critics or enemies to ridicule us and demean our perspectives as ‘absurd’. For myself, I’ve often said ‘The only thing I’m prejudiced about - is PREJUDICE!’ I still abjure and despise such elitist empowerment of divisiveness between lifeforms. There is no room for a closed ‘mind’ (certainly ’soul’) in LOVE, or any true pursuit of GOD (nature, reality).

After having written this book and twenty others detailing the ‘travelers’ impact on the world’s cultural evolution I found that the small and troublesome lice confirm my speculations and evidences. There are two types of lice although they look identical. DNA shows they developed separately and diverged from one source at least 100,000 years ago, but that is a population crash era. One time-line in the on-going research speaks to the other end of the evidences I have proposed for the arrival of people (Homo line) in the Americas. This suggests up to 1.8 million years ago. So the North and South Americas have a distinctive lice and it will be interesting to see if some remains of lice can be found on more recent human remains or mummies.

Skin Care and Protection

April 26th, 2008 by admin

Skin care and protection of skin should be an essential part of your health for fitness & beauty regime. If you take care of your skin, your skin will take care of you! If you’re stuck in a skin care rut, or if you are just looking to learn a bit more about the basics of skin care, read on to learn more about this important step in your daily activities.

Some Opinions for Skin Care:

The first step to taking care of your skin is preventing damage. Sun, wind, pollutants, and simply aging can degrade the condition of your skin. Common complaints include dry and itchy skin, wrinkles, sagging, color changes, and age spots. There are steps that you can take to keep you skin looking and feeling its best.

Exercise, rest, and good nutrition lay the foundation for beautiful, healthy skin, inside and out. A proper diet is not only good for your overall health, it also helps to ensure that your skin will receive all of the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that it needs to maintain and repair cells. Drinking purified water is another good way to keep your skin healthy. Water helps to hydrate the skin and move waste and nutrients through the system. It is very effective mixing a teaspoon or capful of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar in with your water. Do not drink Tap Water.

The most important way to care for your skin is to protect it from the damaging rays of the sun. Ultraviolet radiation damages the skin and can lead to wrinkles, premature aging, age spots, and cancer. Take extra precautions to make sure your skin is not exposed to the sun’s rays.

Dry skin is very common, especially with age. Older skin has fewer sweat and oil glands than younger skin. Dry skin may be caused by frequent baths, certain cosmetics or medications. But whatever the cause, there are ways to alleviate the itchiness associated with it.

3 Tips for Skin Care:

A skin care routine does not have to be elaborate in order to be effective. But you should develop some kind of skin care routine based on your skin type, daily activities, and nutritional needs so that you can be sure you are taking the very best care of your skin. Following a daily skin care regime will also allow you to more closely evaluate your skin for abnormalities. Here’s a simple routine that you can adapt to fit your needs:

1. Cleanse: Wash your skin thoroughly on a daily basis to remove the dirt, debris, pollutants, and perspiration that accumulates on a daily basis. If you have dry or sensitive skin, use only warm water to wash your skin and use a mild natural cleanser every few days like the product Oxy-Skin. If you have normal or oily skin, be sure to wash with a gentle cleanser on a daily basis. Be sure to brush your teeth before washing your face, as toothpaste residue can irritate sensitive facial skin.

2. Moisturize: Unless your skin is very oily, you will want to use a moisturizer everyday to keep your skin hydrated and healthy. Your skin needs moisturizer all year long as both the indoor winter heat, and summer sun can be equally damaging to your skin. The most advanced product is “Parfait Visage” which is used for the face.

3. Protect: Use a natural sunscreen when possible, regardless of whether or not you plan on spending much time in the sun. The sun’s rays are very damaging and if you get in the habit of applying sunscreen everyday, you will never be left without protection. The suns most beneficial rays occur at sunrise and sunset.
