How to drive and combat climate change

May 31st, 2008 by admin

Being environmentally friendly is a thing that is going to influence us all in the next eight years. We have Eco Travel, Electric Automobiles and Biological Diesels to look at now.

There are several kinds of Biological Fuels. Bio Fuels are essentially plant based options to oil- based fuels such as petrol, diesel and cooking oil. Burning biodiesel sends out C02, though this is compensated with the fact that the plant used to generate it uses C02 in the climate to develop. Though the environmental gains of Bio Fuels are hotly talked about, with some green commentators claiming that Biological Fuels cause more harm than good. There are 2 big breeds of Biological Diesel and Ethanol. Combat climate change with Electric Cars.

As the type suggests, biodiesel is designed for use in diesel engines. Biodiesel is deeply like to veg oil & is manufactured from the same sorts of plants- oil rich sources such as sunflower, palm, rapeseed & groundnut. It might also be created from turkey fat or oils recycled from cafes. Biodiesel might be tried neat in some diesel cars, even so, at this current time it is more typically found in a mixture with regular diesel- commonly eighteen % biodiesel with regular diesel fuel. This mix should be used by any regular diesel motorcycle.

Ever thought about obtaining an eco friendly car? There are many 2 sorts the G WIZ & the Mega City electric car. The aforementioned is genuinely climate friendly transport machines; in fact Bio Diesels cars are an environmental dream. The electric cars don’t generate any carbon dioxide emissions in fact more to the point Bio Diesels cars don’t even own an emission pipe. Because if you power an electric car from renewable energy, it makes 0 emissions. Although this environmentally friendly car has various pros it does have several disadvantages as well. The noticeable one being it is an eco friendly car and it will probably only do 105 miles before you have to charge up the batteries & all this as a rule has to be done over night, if you are organising on doing a lengthy voyage, this may have to be powered up over the course of a few days.

Encountering The Third Generation of DVD Format

May 31st, 2008 by admin

It won’t last too long until the third generation of DVD format to be unveiled. Your DVD player will play a well-performing disc with high-storage capacity. The upcoming Media-Tech Expo, Las Vegas, USA, will surely clarify this topical issue.

The upcoming Media-Tech Expo May 10-12, 2005 in Las Vegas, USA will be a crucial moment in deciding what DVD format will be the succesor of the actual DVDs. It will be HD-DVD? Or the Blu-ray Disk? Before the end of 2005, more likely in 2006, the standard format will be decided for good. The competition between the HD-DVD and Blu-ray is in full swing now.

The overwhelming increase of portable DVD players led to a even higher rise of DVDs industry. In 2003, almost 4 billion prerecorded DVDs were produced. This number is calculated to increase to 7 billion in 2006. The same for recordable DVDs market: DVDR, DVDRW. While in 2003 just 908 million disks were produced, it is estimated a double growth rate in 2004 (and about 4 billion estimated in 2006).

This year edition, from Frankfurt, manufacturing technology for the third generation of optical storage media has been debated. More than 1,400 people joined 2004 edition. At upcoming 2005 edition, concepts for replication lines and single components for the manufacturing of HD-DVD and Blu-ray Disc will be introduced. Media-Tech Expo is the leading annual tradeshow for the media manufacturing industry.

As for these two vying formats, both use a blue laser (contrary to red laser for DVDs). The blue laser has a shorter wavelength leading to finer signal markings on the optical media. Moreover, a shorter wavelength, associated with advanced compression process, prompts a higher storage capacity. Whereas HD-DVD holds 30 gigabytes, Blu-ray holds 50 gigabytes on a double-layer disc.

Professional video industry is one of the most prosperous. Not surprisingly, engineers and manufacturing professionals, producers, video and audio professionals, web developers, broadcasters, directors, DVD authors, editors, graphic artists, gather on annual worldwide electronics and digital video exhibitions to learn the newly techniques, technologies, capabilities, advantages related to their industry. There are seven major exhibitions: DV-Expo, Mediacast, DVD Europe, DVD Replication Exhibition, DVD Summit - Midle East Asia, Media-Tech, Production-Show.

How To Become A Top Internet Marketer

May 31st, 2008 by admin

Marketing is not for everyone. Most people desire a sense of stability to their jobs. They want an 8 to 5 job that pays this much all the time.

Marketing on the other hand is for the adventurous. This is because marketing involves a great deal of risk. It also involves a great deal of persuading other to believe in the marketer to buy the product or services he or she hawks. For most people this could be too much of a risk.

But for some people this is a challenge they are willing to undertake. Those that persevere in their vocation make great headway leading to increased success and stability. Good marketers are known to earn much quickly.

But how does one become a successful internet marketer? How does one acquire the skills that these earning machines possess?

Online Marketing as a Job

Online marketers play their trade by making use of tools and techniques on the internet to market products and services. Their job is to come up on the heap of other marketers vying for attention on the internet. If they are able to reach the consumer and or close a sale, they are deemed successful in marketing sense.

What is Top Internet Marketer?

If one is able to direct much traffic and interest in a product, that person is a very good internet marketer. If the person is able to retain customers and create good relationships with them, that is another sign of a good marketer. If the marketer is able to increase the image and reputation of the product or service he or she presents, then he or she is a valuable member of the marketing arm of that company.

How Do They Do It

Hard work pays off big time in this department. Good marketing involves a great deal of studying, observing and imitating. Most successful marketers study successful marketing strategies and find out why these strategies work. They also try to emulate these strategies and try to adapt them to the product or service they promote.

These marketers are observant and quick to note strategies that work and strategies that do not. They also are inclined to note what made a marketing strategy or what made it fail. They also learn much from those that make mistakes. This leads them to avoid making those same mistakes too.

One major aspect of good internet marketing is the ability to predict behavior. Man is built out of his habits. If you can predict the spending habits of a person, you more or less know how to push his buttons to interest him in your product or service.

The good marketer also knows that man is responsive to some keywords. The savvy marketer will then make use of these words to attract buyers to his or her nook.

The successful marketer is engaging and is concerned about the welfare of his or her customers. Being concerned with customers reaps much benefit. For one, the customer, when he or she knows that the marketers they deal with care for them, will repeatedly do business with the company.

The business world is built of relationships. The top internet marketer knows this and uses this knowledge to his or her advantage.

The internet marketer is also patient. He or she has great timing. These people know when to wait for responses or when to push the advantage. They know they should not e pushy, so they wait. They know they should not be complacent so they push. This timing comes with practice.

They also put themselves in the shoes of the customer. This helps them guess how a customer will react to the various strategies marketers employ. They know how customers like to be treated so they treat them so.

Drive!

To become a top internet marketer, one has to take note of the above criteria. He or she must also me driven. Marketing is not for the passive. Sales go to those who search for them. Therefore, make sure your goals are clear and your drive is strong.

If you pay heed to the guidelines here, you may very well find yourself one of the top internet marketers around!

10 Simple Kitchen Organizing Tips

May 30th, 2008 by admin

A lot of the times we mean to get in there and finally organize the kitchen, but once things get out of control the job can seem so daunting and you just don’t know where to start. These top 10 kitchen organizing tips will help make your kitchen pleasant and welcoming.

The best way to start a big task is to start small and think of one thing at a time. If you think of everything you need to do you may just never do it!

Here are some easy kitchen organizing tips:

Mentally Prepare - Look in your kitchen and make a mental note of what belongs in there, what can be put away, what you don’t need anymore, etc.

Organize Kitchen Cabinets - Take everything out of your kitchen cabinets, clean, and place them back into different categories such as glasses, plates, baking trays and so on. If your cabinets are organized you will save a lot of time during cooking.

Clean your Pantry - It’s amazing the things you’ll find stored in the back of a pantry. We often buy things we already have because we simply can’t find them. So, take everything out of the pantry, clean and place back in categories. Use one shelf for dry foods such as cereals, pasta, etc. Use another for canned goods, and so on. Use baskets in your pantries for smaller items like stock cubes and gravy mixes. This will make them easier to find and avoid spillage from opened packets.

Use a Spice Rack - By simply using a wall-mounted or counter top spice rack you can save a lot of cabinet space and have your spices close at hand. Clearly label your spices and place the ones you use more often towards the front of the rack.

Clear your Counter Tops - Remove any items you don’t use on a regular basis from your counter tops. Instead, store them in a cabinet or even your basement or garage (if you don’t use them very often). Group appliances together for conveniences like the toaster and coffee pot.

Organize that Junk Drawer - Okay, just because we all call it the “junk drawer” doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be organized. Take a look through and throw out any items you many not need. Place small baskets in there to store items like batteries, clips and all those other interesting things we seem to collect in our kitchens.

Clean up your Cleaning Products - Buy an inexpensive plastic dish drainer and place it under your sink. These make it easy for you to organize cleaning products, sponges, etc. Please remember to keep a lock on all cabinets with dangerous items if you have young children.

Clean that Fridge - Every time you go grocery shopping clean out your fridge. You’ll find lots of things in there which have gone bad, are empty, etc. Throw out all these items and give your fridge a good wipe. Bacteria in fridges can accumulate quickly so you want to make sure this area is cleaned weekly.

Set up a Message Station - If your kitchen allows, set up a specific place for the telephone, messages, keys, etc. I have a small peg board where I keep reminders and messages. Underneath that there’s a wall-mounted key rack, and under that a small desk with the telephone, a basket for mail, a calendar and pens and paper for writing. Having an area like this can save you tons of time and you won’t loose messages or mail again. If you don’t have space for this in your kitchen then place it in your hallway or living room.

Invest and be Clutter Free - Now you can find all sorts of inexpensive organizing products and gadgets for your kitchen and home. If possible invest in a few of these as they will make your job much easier. A simple pegboard where you can keep photos, messages or your kids works of art can be a lifesaver. The same thing goes for a plastic bag organizer or good spice rack. Invest a little and you’ll reap the rewards in time saved and much more pleasant kitchen to cook in.

Business Results - Four Critical Success Factors

May 29th, 2008 by admin

Scenario One

During a recent presentation, a business owner was given the following challenge. If 10 of his 100 employees were asked to name the top 3 organizational goals for the current year as they perceived them to be, would he receive the same 3 goals from everyone or would he receive 5, 10 or even 25 different goals? The business owner shook his head and thoughtfully responded, “No, I am sure that I would receive more than 3 goals.” He was then asked to consider what these misdirected actions from his employees were costing him in terms of missed opportunities.

Scenario Two

At another presentation, a business owner was asked if she set goals? She responded quite enthusiastically, “Of course, I set goals.” She was asked a follow-up question: “Can you state with 100% conviction that your employees know how to consistently achieve both their personal and professional goals?” After a few moments, she replied “No.” She was then asked how this lack of knowledge potentially affected her bottom line?

Scenario Three

A president of a company was asked: “Have you ever seen behavior inconsistent with your strategic plan?” He quickly answered “Yes!” A second question was asked, “What did you do about it?” “Well, we sent them to training and within 6 months we had to send them back again?” A new question was then posed to the President. “Are these performance failures a result of a lack of knowledge or skills or due to poor attitudes and habits?” The president immediately said “Why bad attitudes and poor habits.” Again, the facilitator asked another question: “What are all these re-do’s costing your company?”

Scenario Four

During the annual meeting, the CEO of a manufacturing company informed her executive team that she wanted to achieve a 10% growth during the next 12 months. The VP of Operations made plans to purchase new manufacturing equipment for some new products while the VP of Marketing & Sales began to implement a plan selling existing products. The CFO decided to cut budgets to capital improvements and marketing. All three executive team members believed that their actions would help achieve the 10% growth.

These scenarios shared four critical success factors (CSF’s) that impede all organizations from achieving consistent results: communication, goal setting and goal achievement skills, attitudes and alignment.

Critical Factor #1: Communication is the key to unlocking the potential within businesses as well as individuals. When the goals are in alignment with the vision and consistently communicated from top down, then performance excellence is much more likely to happen. Inconsistent communication contributes to missed targets and lowers the performance for the entire organization.

Critical Factor #2: Goal setting and goal achievement are learned skills. Unfortunately, many presume that these skills are acquired during the K-12 educational experiences through the “Osmosis Process.” Also, these skills are not actively taught in the corporate setting. Yet, consistent goal achievement or the results are what every organization seeks.

Critical Factor #3: Attitudes drive behaviors that result in change. Many companies focus on trying to change negative behaviors because they are experiencing negative change. However, when the negative attitudes are replaced with positive attitudes, those attitudes will drive positive behaviors creating positive change. By failing to address negative attitudes, new trends, changes or initiatives, the result is wasted resources creating a negative drain on the “KASH Box.”

Critical Factor #4: Alignment is necessary to ensure that the desired results are achieved. Performance excellence happens when the strategies, systems and people are working together to build loyal internal customers that drive loyal external customers. The much heard adage about “Getting everyone to row in the same direction” is true, but probably should be amended to include the following “by using the same paddles.”

When these four CSF’s work together, results happen quicker and create a culture of working “smarter and not harder.” The following questions may help you to achieve the consistent results that you desire as you work your strategic plan:

1. Do I know with 100% accuracy that every employee can clearly articulate the top 3 goals for the organizations?

2. Does every person within the organization consistently sets and achieves all of his or her personal and professional goals?

3. Does everyone within the organization at ALL times consistently demonstrate positive attitudes?

4. Are the strategies, systems and people in alignment to build loyal internal customers?

Create Residual Income with Little Effort

May 29th, 2008 by admin

Going into business is an exciting venture that lets you be the boss. When you are your own boss, you get to decide what the company’s priorities are.

You get to let yourself go home in time to see your kids play soccer or to help do homework at night. When you are the boss and things are not going well, you can implement your own new ideas. Going into business can be an exciting time for you and your family, as you try new things and watch your risk pay off in increased expendable income and increased time during which to enjoy it. Why not optimize your new venture to create residual income with little effort. The strategy is simple and the pay off is large.

Residual income is income you can count on long term. Usually monthly, this money comes in with little effort from you once the payments are secured. When you are first considering going into business for yourself, lend thought to residual income and how you can create the most opportunities to bring in this kind of easy cash flow. Online network marketing businesses offer two-fold opportunities for residual income. The first, people will pay you monthly for the services you offer.

Take, for example, web hosting as a perfect illustration. With a web hosting service, people will pay you every month to host their web site and to provide them with technical support and answers. This money requires your attention for billing purposes, but is yours once the contract is achieved. When you offer any service people need and want already, you increase the likely hood that these people will bring their business to you. Selling products people want and need is the best way to ensure people will buy your products.

Another advantage to online marketing businesses are the chances you have to become affiliates of other companies. There are many online services that you may choose to subscribe t yourself because of the help and technical tools they can provide you to make your business run more smoothly. When you subscribe to services such as Kiosk for web hosting, or GetResponse and Aweber for autoresponding, you not only benefit from their excellent businesses and products, but they offer you an opportunity to earn back any money you spend to subscribe to their service as well as residual income.

When you become an affiliate to one of these services, you will simply promote their service on your website. This promotion can be as simple as putting the company’s banner on your site. When people check out their web site from yours, and when people you refer sign up to become their client, you receive part of their monthly fee, and continue to for as long as the person is with the service. In this way, Aweber and Kiosk pay you to tell other people what a good job they are doing for you. Aweber and Kiosk do not want to compromise your integrity with the affiliate program. They want you to mean every compliment you bestow on them. To earn your confidence and business partnership through their affiliate program, these companies offer special incentives to their affiliates.

You will have access to many tools that will optimize your web site, accent your business, and help you stay up to the moment on the money you are making.

This tracking software is unique to these kinds of programs, and can take the guess work out of running your business. This software helps you to track the number of people who visit their site from a link on your web site. This software allows to you see how much money you are making when these people subscribe to their site. This residual income comes to you for very little effort and takes virtually no maintenance. What could your business do with a little extra cash each month? What could your family do?

Don’t work over time or spend too many hours away from your family. Become an affiliate today and watch residual income pile up at your door.

Outsourcing Your Packaging Is A Strategic Option

May 28th, 2008 by admin

In a recent article in “Investors Business Daily”, it was revealed that outsourcing has become more than just an easy way to cut costs. It has become a strategic tool that gives businesses flexibility and access to skilled personnel.

Since the advent of the Internet, and the rush to get online, companies have turned to outside professionals for services and solutions. Hiring a full-time IT technician is costly and not an efficient use of resources. Outsourcing allows companies to focus on their core businesses while gaining access to skilled labor when they need it.

* Outsourcing is a way to boost revenue
* Outsourcing is a way to cut costs
* Outsourcing eases labor shortages
* Outsourcing cuts payroll costs
* Outsourcing allows companies to focus on core competencies
* Outsourcing reduces or eliminates some capital expenditures

Outsourcing also allows businesses to change their corporate culture. If companies have renegade groups that are costly, ineffective, or difficult to manage, that group can be outsourced. This enables employers to change their workplace environment on-the-fly.

Still, most companies outsource projects in order to reduce costs and to gain outside expertise. A survey by “The Conference Board” indicated the following “Top-10″ outsourcing objectives (numbers are approximate):

* Reduce Costs (40%)
* Access to Expertise (38%)
* Improve Internal Service (37%)
* Focus on Core Business (34%)
* Maximize Resources (27%)
* Internal Flexibility (25%)
* Improve External Service (24%)
* Changing Customer Needs (20%)
* World Class Standards (15%)
* Continuous Improvement (15%)

When deciding to outsource your packaging, the real litmus test is whether outsourcing adds value. Does it really reduce costs? Is the investment in in-house training and machinery too great? Does outsourcing a service give you access to people with greater skill sets or companies with more resources available to them?

Bottom line: outsourcing your packaging service needs is about more than just saving money. It is a strategic option for savvy businesses and entrepreneurs.

Thomas Bacon has been involved in the contract packaging industry for more than 35 years. He is an author, speaker and owner of Aaron Thomas Company, Inc., a packaging service company with locations in Los Angeles, Memphis and Chicago. His articles on contract packaging are available on www.Packaging.com and through various media outlets.

What The Animals Tell Us: A Shaman’s View

May 28th, 2008 by admin

“I am the Sun’s son.
I sit upon a turquoise horse
At the
opening of the sky”
Navajo Horse Song

In Shamanism there is much importance given to animals as
guides, totems and helpers. This is more than just having a
favorite animal or being attracted to butterflies. Animals have
been used as a source of diagnosis in healing and counseling by
Shamans all around the world throughout recorded history.

Each animal has its own nature, its own traits and is a
representation of a power such as strength for the lion or speed
for the jaguar. By learning about animal strengths or powers a
Shaman comes to understand why people are attracted to certain
favorite animals and repulsed by others. These attractions and
repulsions actually become a tool that tells the Shaman what is
needed or missing in a person’s life.

There was a woman who no matter how she tried, kept missing the
boat, missing out on opportunities that would have brought her
the abundance and connections she needed to succeed. In
hindsight she could see every instance in which she had failed
to recognize the chance to get ahead. It was very frustrating
for her but she could not find a way to break out of this rut.

When asked what animal she most feared she related an experience
she had as a child with a horse. She was introduced to a
friend’s horse that was very high spirited and when she reached
out her little hand the horse bit it causing much trauma for the
child and a lot of consternation for the mother. But since that
time, the horse had represented fear for this woman.

Yet if we look at the power of the horse it is a prey animal.
That means it is usually a source of food for some other animal.
So it is keenly aware of what is going on around it at all
times. One quick move, one strange sound and the horse will perk
up its ears and be on the alert for what is happening, ready to
run if it feels any danger. Horses also watch out for one
another and if one horse senses danger the whole herd is willing
to move as one, away from apparent threat.

So examining this woman from a Shamanic perspective we see that
she is not aware of what is around her and she is afraid of the
power represented by the horse that would be keenly aware of her
situation at all times. By dealing with her fear of horses we
can allow her once again to become aware of her surroundings, to
prick her ears up and take full advantage of opportunities
around her.

In the same regard we can use those animals we are most
attracted to for observations about powers we have or would like
to have. Recently a student became interested in developing her
spiritual gifts and stated that she was attracted to the snake.
Certainly it is an unusual animal to attract the favor of a
woman! She just seemed to think about the snake more often than
any other animal and it had only been this way for the past year
or so.

When we look at the snake we see it represents the power of
transformation. The snake can shed its skin and recreate itself
within a short time. It has always been a symbol of power and
has even been regarded as the mother of all life. The life
energy called kundalini is often described as a snake rising up
the spinal column to bring enlightenment.

So for this woman the snake was showing her that, yes, it is
time to begin developing her healing abilities and taking charge
of her own power to help others. As she progresses, other
animals will become her favorites and those too will have
significance in her own life.

It is said that we carry 12 totem animals in our lives. Usually
there are four animals that stay with us constantly and they
represent the powers that are inherent in our Spirit before, now
and after, eternally. The other eight totems represent life
changing events or growth cycles as we move along this path of
life learning and practicing what we have learned. If you pay
attention to the animals you most like or don’t like you can
learn many things about your true desires and how to attain
them. Visit HREF="http://www.shamanelder.com" rel="nofollow">www.shamanelder.com for

What To Expect From A Havanese

May 27th, 2008 by admin

One of the most positive and prevalent traits you can expect
from your Havanese is companionship and devotion. A Havanese can
live in a small apartment setting with ease. They don’t require
the amount of space or exercise requirements that larger dogs
require. Therefore, in many ways a Havanese dog is very easy to
care for.

Various dog breeds are prone to many common health ailments and
diseases. The great thing about the Havanese breed is that it
has relatively few genetic diseases in its history. This is a
welcome note to any Havanese owner or anyone that is interested
in finding their own wonderful Havanese dog.

The genetic problems of the Havanese include autoimmune skin
conditions, cataracts and progressive retina atrophy.

I must stress, however, that it is still important to maintain
quality preventative care through vaccinations, heart worm
pills, and flea & tick medications. These preventative health
measures are necessary for virtually every breed of dog.

A Havanese has a typical life span of around 16-18 years.

Personality Of The Havanese

This is probably the one burning question that many potential
Havanese owners ask. What is their personality like? Well let me
go through that for you right now:

1. Temperament

The temperament of a Havanese is playful and alert. The Havanese
breed is brave even though they are smaller then most other
dogs. This courage helps them to be a great watch dog. They are
devoted to their family.

The Havanese breed is good with children. The key is to treat
the Havanese like a companion and not a toy. Remember they are
not a fragile doll and can play and romp with the best of them.
Their playful attitude and active nature make them great friends
for walks, swimming, and playing in the yard. The Havanese tends
to be an indoor dog, but they need exercise as well.

The Havanese makes a great house pet and work well with kids. It
is critical to teach your children to respect your Havanese and
create a loving relationship.

2. Toy Breed

The Havanese breed is a member of the Toy group as classified by
the American Kennel Club. The toy breed is small in stature
which makes them wonderful apartment and house dogs. The
Havanese can be a great choice for someone that lives in the
city.

3. Exercise Requirements

A Havanese dog loves to curl up on the couch with you. However,
they do also like to take a walk. In fact, walking should be
part of their exercise plan. A Havanese will often be ready to
play, but at times will want you to carry them during the walk.
This can be tempting, especially because they are so cute!

Don’t carry them. This will only spoil them. They need the
exercise or they will become restless and irritable. A restless,
bored, and irritable dog is prone to behavioral problems.

Exercise and play not only keeps your dog physically fit, but it
promotes their mental health as well. Keep your Havanese happy
and healthy with games, walks, and a good belly rub.

4. Great Family Dog

A Havanese can make a wonderful family dog. This breed is good
with children if you train and socialize them properly. They
have an innate need to watch over their family. They may not be
able to attack an intruder, but they can let you know with a
bark that an intruder is present.
