A Primer on Mont Blanc Ballpoint Pens and Penmanship
admin
Although it may appear like penmanship is dying out, it’s a skill that still is fundamental in many walks of life. A handwritten missive conveys more importance than a typed letter, like an apology, an invitation, or an application for a job.
One may imagine it’s a recent fad of the masses eschewing penmanship and using a keyboard instead, yet as far back as the late 19th century, there were cries that hand writing was being neglected due to the invention of those times : the typwriter. These days, the fault is being linked to the ubiquitous usage of computers.
However, there is still a strong need for penmanship skills in both the business world and academia. Penned missives are considered as far more trustworthy, they evince the author has deliberated over his words, while demonstrating more respectfulness to the reader. During the age of “canned responses”, the hand-written missive has never been more prestigious.
I’ve often been caught red-handed with my bad penmanship - made worse due to decades of reliance on my computer keyboard. In times where I’ve had to hand-write something, my writing’s been almost illegible at times. It doesn’t look good. So how did I get over this issue? How to work out such a problem? I wrote whenever the chance came to do so, and my writing improved greatly. So it’s best to polish your hand-writing by practise.
One more point is to find a pen you are comfy with, with refills. Great refills include the legendary Mont Blanc Pens range. This allows you to polish your hand writing with the same pen.
