In my point of view gaming notebooks have lost their once maintained niche status. I can think back to when they were not so popular. Could this be the death of local companies? This formerly premium technology is basically going to be aimed at everybody now. In addition buyers just seem to trust larger manufacturers greater.

With that these units are additionally considered to be the best laptops already, even though they really aren’t. I reckon that small companies may still have an opportunity. I can predict the ability of being able to customise the laptop computer to be a key purchasing factor. Such purchasers are normally tech savvy and can consider all the complicated details. In a couple of scenario’s the power is way more important than the styling for certain types of customers.

The rapid changes in technology have given way to many different types of file formats, and it can get quite difficult switching from one to another. These compatibility issues are now easily resolved, thanks to encoders.

What exactly are encoders?

In simplest terms, encoders are programs that use a ‘codec’ to convert a file from one format to another. The term ‘codec’ is actually short for compressor/ decompressor. Codec is the kind of technology that compresses and decompresses data, so that it can be recognized and opened by programs that can only read a certain type of file format. Encoders and codecs are used everywhere - in hardware and software or a combination of both.

What are the types of encoders?

Encoders can be generally classified into two major and distantly different types: mechanical and optical encoders. The two function very differently.

Mechanical encoders are also called ‘rotary’ encoders. These types are typically used for ‘low cycle’ applications, such as the dial on the front panel of audio gear. These encoders are used for transducing angular positions and angular motions into electrical signals, so that they can be easily displayed, automated or controlled (numerically).

Optical encoders, on the other hand, are designed for ‘continuous duty’ applications. They are used for applications where reliability is imperative. Optical encoders have different kinds of electrical interfaces. Some use binary-coded digital electrical interfaces, while other use quadrature types. A binary coder is often used when very high resolutions are needed. A binary code can handle more than one signal change from one measuring step to the next. Also called ‘photoelectric encoders,’ optical encoders are very popular in modern machines and computer technology. They are highly accurate and reliable while at the same time relatively low cost.

Earth, ‘our mother planet’, is being attacked everyday by about 25 tons of dust and sand-sized particles. An asteroid, the size of a small car, hits Earth’s atmosphere about once in every year.

Fortunately she knows how to defend herself. When that small car-sized asteroid enters her atmosphere, she burns the asteroid up before the latter touches her surface. So no damage is done.

But what exactly are asteroids? Asteroids are fragments from the formation of the Solar System some 4.6 billion years ago. Fortunately, most asteroids are found in the Asteroid Belt found between the planets Mars and Jupiter, the gas giant. Scientists think that asteroids found in the belt can be as big as 940 km across.

Like everybody though, Earth cannot cope with each and every one of the asteroids.

If an asteroid has managed not to be completely burned up while sprinting into Earth’s atmosphere, then ???? Scientists think that the collision would cause local damage to the surrounding area.

If that same asteroid however measures more than 1 km across when it touches Earth’s surface, disaster is on its way. Scientists believe that this impact could have worldwide effects. Man however is helping or trying to help our mother Earth.

Astronomers are now observing and tracking asteroids, which are at an average distance from Earth to Moon. By immediately tracking potential dangers and learning more about their orbital paths, scientists have more time to study potentially threatening situations. In the next few years, NASA hopes to discover more than 90% of all Earth’s threatening objects larger than 1 km across.

But we have to stop these threatening asteroids from hitting Earth so as to ’save’ ourselves.

In some movies, we see a missile being launched straight towards a big asteroid. The latter then explodes and the film usually ends. But in reality, it’s not that simple. Did you ever think what might happen to the biggest remains of that big asteroid? Maybe it would go and enter Earth’s atmosphere or maybe not. If it does pass this first test, maybe it will cause big damages or maybe not. You will agree with me that man cannot take such a risk.

An idea suggests that if a small asteroid is indeed intending to hit Earth, an engine is to be anchored in it. This engine is simply going to push the asteroid away.

Yet another strategy to put the asteroid out of the way is to attach solar sails to it. The ‘gentle’ pressure of sunlight on the sails will deflect the asteroid away from Earth.

Luckily an asteroid the size of a football field manages to hit the Earth only every thousand years or so but mind you I do not know when such an asteroid did hit Earth last.

The Caral pyramids are older than the ones on Giza’s Plateau according to some academics. The mummies found in the Hebrides and Canary Islands have similar interment procedures to those in Peru. There are many things that show advanced technology started in Peru and it is hard to know when it all began or what kind of culture may have taught the white people known as the Chachapoyas who were still the leaders of the Incas even though history tells us they were defeated a short time before Pizarro arrived.

Recently it was discovered that the Mayan language was both phonetic and pictographic but Bishop Landa had clearly stated this was the case while he burned their libraries and librarians. What do you think about a map traced five hundred years ago that identifies the Bering Strait as it was 12,500 years ago? We only achieved this level of detail in 1958.

It is so wonderful to learn and see the way of those we have denigrated as barbarian or primitive as they frolic in the joy of adventure and oneness with Nature as they nurtured each other.

When the Incas refused to raise their arms to defend their lives against the arm-weary Spanish who hacked them to death (to kill 7,000 in one day); were they operating in ‘RIGHT THOUGHT’? Were they more ‘civilized’ or simply heathen believers who were duped by some astrological stupidity? We think the 177 Spanish were allowed to do this by wiser people who knew the immortal soul and our part in a grander scheme of things. But it might also be a case of the Chachapoyas (white men who led the Incas) making a deal with the Spanish and allowing this to happen; then they were betrayed. I propose they were willing to courageously face the forces of Evil and greedy religious oppressors; much as the Cathars who sang hymns while walking hand in hand with their children into the fires set for them by the Dominican Catholics. We are similarly STUPID! Because we know we are like a grain of sand on John Donne’s beach; and we know ‘for whom the Bell TOLLS!’

Therefore this book will not hesitate to raise questions; I have no clear and definitive or closed-minded perception about most things I hope. We are not trying to interpret GOD for you - we know we are mere amazed gazers witnessing the majesty of something far greater. The result will enable our critics or enemies to ridicule us and demean our perspectives as ‘absurd’. For myself, I’ve often said ‘The only thing I’m prejudiced about - is PREJUDICE!’ I still abjure and despise such elitist empowerment of divisiveness between lifeforms. There is no room for a closed ‘mind’ (certainly ’soul’) in LOVE, or any true pursuit of GOD (nature, reality).

After having written this book and twenty others detailing the ‘travelers’ impact on the world’s cultural evolution I found that the small and troublesome lice confirm my speculations and evidences. There are two types of lice although they look identical. DNA shows they developed separately and diverged from one source at least 100,000 years ago, but that is a population crash era. One time-line in the on-going research speaks to the other end of the evidences I have proposed for the arrival of people (Homo line) in the Americas. This suggests up to 1.8 million years ago. So the North and South Americas have a distinctive lice and it will be interesting to see if some remains of lice can be found on more recent human remains or mummies.
